December 6th, 2025, we’re excited to celebrate Shidong’s project, which has received support from the General Program of the China Postdoctoral Science Foundation for the years 2026 to 2029. We are off to a good start!

Nov 17th 2025, the Dong Lab celebrated Rina’s project being funded by the General Program of the Natural Science Foundation of Guangdong Province（supported from 2026 to 2029). Bravo!
Lab party at HaidiLao Hotpot
Aug 15th 2025, the Dong lab had lunch together at HaidiLao Hotpot. Lab members prepared an unexpected party for Guanchao to celebrate his birthday. All the staff joined with us to sing along the birthday song, which was a complete surprise (for Guanchao at least)! We went to karaoke afterwards. Many lab members can sing very well in Cantonese. However, the PI cannot. Hope everyone enjoyed it.

May 28th 2025, Yanming successfully graduated from Jinan University with a fabulous bona fide master’s degree! While having this delectable cake, we celebrate the official joining of Yanming to Dong Lab! Many congrats…. We also look forward to welcoming other Ph.D. students to either rotate or join the lab in the near future.

Joint lab party
Jan 12th 2025, to celebrate the coming of traditional Chinese New Year, Dong lab kicked off a party in a large mansion alongside the Zhu Jiang river. We invited all the members from Liang lab to participate and had a memorable time together.
Hao and Jixi visit the lab
Nov 7th 2024, after an entire day in the 19th TNF Superfamily Conference, Ying together with the whole lab gave a hearty welcome to two distinguished guests! Professor Wu Hao from Boston Children’s Hospital/ Harvard Medical School and Professor Li Jixi from Fudan University School of Life Sciences! It’s been a while since last time Ying met Hao back in the State….
The Nov. Birthday Party
Nov. 2nd 2024, we celebrated the coming of Lulu’s birthday together! Also, we warmly welcome the invited guest Doctor Zhang Xiang from Zhongshan Institute for Drug Discovery (ZIDD) to pay a visit around the lab!
The First Lab Meeting– Journal Club
Oct 18th 2024, Shengjie kicked off the first lab meeting! As the presenter, Shengjie made it into a journal club and talked about the maturation of IL-1β as well as IL-18!
